CALLED TO SERVE

April 18–24 is National Volunteer Week, and Garmann Miller honors all the individuals who take time out of their day to help others. Our firm’s leadership understands that charity work doesn’t just happen one week a year or on weekends. That’s why, in addition to encouraging the team to give back to their local communities, GM gives each team member eight hours of service time. That’s roughly 500 hours that team members use to share their time and talent to make a difference.

In honor of National Volunteer Week, Garmann Miller internally reflected on the good these service hours have done and felt compelled to share at least one story. Designer Cindy Pottkotter used her service hours to assist Choosing Life Pregnancy Center in remodeling The House of New Beginnings in Celina, Ohio. “We are called to serve and share God’s word,” she said. “I helped paint the house that would provide a safe haven to homeless pregnant women and their children while empowering them to become self-sufficient.”

Garmann Miller’s primary responsibility as a design firm will continue to be to enhance lives, whether that’s through the design of safe, sustainable environments or through the giving of our time, talent and treasure. Our team understands the significance of giving back to the communities we live, work, play and learn in every day.
