2019 Best Firms to Work For Award

Auglaize County Courthouse

Auglaize County Courthouse

Wapakoneta, Ohio

Based on a facility survey and condition analysis, the 120 year old courthouse was renovated with better security, access and courtroom efficiency. The complete renovation and restoration included all new heating and cooling systems. An entire new electrical system and security system was installed according to current codes. Access controlled entrances were installed along with a complete visual monitoring system throughout the building. The existing attic space was renovated into two floors, one to house the prosecuting attorney and the other mechanical, electrical and data systems. An emergency generator was installed to provide back up for the entire courthouse and seamless security. The existing courtrooms were restored to their original grandeur including the wall colors and stenciling. The exterior original brick pavers were reused to enhance the main entrance according to ADA standards. The project renovations were featured at the 2014 Ohio Courthouse Symposium. This project was a recipient of Heritage Ohio Best Public Project 2012, AIA Dayton Honorable Mention Design Award Interiors, and 2013 Ohio Historic Preservation Award of Merit.
